MSDP Redevelopment, Liverpool

This project showcased the full range of Hovington’s capabilities taking the scheme from initial demolition of the existing former school building to the site remediation & enabling works package and then continuing with the full groundworks package for the new build Aldi, M&S Food Hall and the new Merseyside Society for Deaf People Headquarters Building.

Barnes Village Development

The Barnes Village Development was the refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed building formally known as Barnes Hospital. The project also included the construction of new properties and an underground car park. Hovington were responsible for the construction of the new reinforced concrete underground basement car park along with the foundation and slab works of adjoining properties

Safestore Self-Storage Warehouse, Birmingham

Following the demolition of the existing foundry building on the site, we undertook the bulk earthworks, groundworks & adoptable highway works on this new build self-storage warehouse under a Construction Management contractual arrangement with the client.

IKEA EMPU, Edinburgh

IKEA acquired an area of land less than half a mile away from the site of the IKEA Edinburgh store. Their plan was to develop the land and construct an EMPU (external merchandise pickup unit) to achieve additional storage and a place where customers can collect their purchased goods. Hovington were appointed on this project by the Principal contractor to undertake the bulk earthworks, groundworks and adoptable highway works.

Lidl Regional Distribution Centre, Runcorn

The project encompassed the extension & remodelling of the existing regional distribution facility which was operational throughout the duration of the contract. Our works comprised demolition, bulk earthworks, groundworks, extensive external & concrete works in a live depot environment.

Alban Retail Park, Warrington

Major alterations to widen the A49 Winwick Road, Warrington. The works included the construction of an additional right turn lane and formation of a new automated junction to the existing retail park.

Ikea Store Sheffield

Remediation of an existing former heavy industrial site to provide the enabling works package for a new Ikea Superstore under a design & build contract. Works comprised the demolition & remediation of the existing buildings, bulk earthworks to re-profile the site, dealing with unforeseen subterranean ground conditions, processing of site won material to achieve BREEAM excellent rating, construction of reinforced concrete retaining structures & surface car parking together with all associated drainage & incoming statutory service provision.

UCS Production & Container Storage Facility

Remediation of an existing brownfield site to construct a new Head Office Building with associated Car Parking, Container Production Facilities, Bulk Shipping Container Storage and associated logistics, security & service provision for all on site operations.
