Remediation of an existing brownfield site to construct a new Head Office Building with associated Car Parking, Container Production Facilities, Bulk Shipping Container Storage and associated logistics, security & service provision for all on site operations.

Challenge

The project involved working closely with the client to manage & react to the component elements of the evolving & changing needs of various business units and optimising client value within a fixed budget allowance for the project.

Approach

Understanding the client’s business & its core needs enabled us to Value Engineer the scheme to deliver the essential components in the short term & plan a 3 year phased programme of works to provide the optimum solution as permitted by the client’s budget & business constraints. Providing a design & build option for foundation, drainage & carriageway design and balancing the needs of the differing sectors of the business.

Solution

We held regular meetings to assess & prioritise the client’s needs; jointly programmed the phasing & handover of the works to enable a smooth transition from the existing premises to the new facility without detrimentally affecting the functioning of the business and targeted achieving the optimum design solution to the overall project brief to provide best value for the client.
