The site required detailed logistical planning due to the extent of the remediation works and unforeseen contamination within the building being demolished. Carefully planning & programming ensured the critical path building works were able to progress whilst completing the remediation of the external works areas.

Approach

Detailed management of the site generated material together with Hovington providing the full demolition, remediation & groundworks package meant that we were able to overlap activities to gain valuable time savings which fed into the developer’s overall programme for the following tenant works.

Solution

Continual liaison & co-ordination with the main contractor ensured that we were able to meet the critical path programme activities. Our specialist knowledge of demolition & remediation also generated savings for the client by reducing the volume of imported material required to achieve the finished profile. The site quickly became rather tight once the building works progressed and having just one contractor for all the civils related works ensured the management of resources & activities was optimised.
